Pastor Dr. D. Robert Kennedy, MA; M. Ed; STM; Ed.D; PhD


Pastor Kennedy is in his 11th year as a pastor in the Allegheny East Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. He will be installed at Emmanuel Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church on Saturday, September 5, 2015 as the new Pastor. He has been in ministry practice for the last 44 years having entered ministerial service in 1971.His pastoral and teaching ministries have taken him through the six continents and many islands of the world, pastoring, teaching preaching and offering seminars in organizational leadership and family life issues. His ministry has been effectively divided into four significant phases, namely: pastoring, teaching, administration and seminar presentations in the areas of Family Life, Leadership, Stewardship, and Evangelism.


Pastor Kennedy is a graduate of West Indies College (now Northern Caribbean University) in Jamaica; Columbia University, in New York; Andrews University in Michigan; McGill University in Montreal, Canada; and Greenwich University, in Hawaii. He degrees are in Theology, Religion and Education. He also holds certifications in Life Skills Management, Non-Profit Organization leadership, Prepare/Enrich (to assist couples with marital issues) and Crisis Intervention areas to assist with persons facing disasters.


He has authored ten books, written chapters for another four books, contributed to several journals and magazines, and writes a weekly column called “From the Pastor’s Heart,” for a Local Talk Newspaper. He also blogs on tworobertswrite.com.


He has also served as a professor of Religion and Theology at Atlantic Union College, in Massachusetts and an adjunct professor for a number of Graduate Schools and seminaries, including The Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan; Union University in Cincinnati, Ohio; Trinity Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana, Northwest University, and Greenwich School of Theology, in England.


Pastor Kennedy has enjoyed every aspect of his ministry. He loves music and tries to play the piano, and is now learning the trumpet and sings with his church choirs wherever he pastors. He likes to try at different languages and is trying to be proficient in Spanish.


He believes life is to be lived to its fullest in service to humanity with absolute trust in God. He is “confident of this, that he who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6).


Pastor Kennedy and his lovely wife, Dr. S. June Kennedy, have celebrated 45 years of marriage. Together they have three sons who are married, thus giving them three beautiful daughters and all together producing seven grand children. The Kennedys cherish their children and grand children, and rejoice that they are very involved in the ministries of the Church.
