What should I expect when I visit?

If you remember that old Cheers song, “Don’t you want to go, where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came?” Well our church is a very friendly church where we have a desire to get to know you when you visit. Please do not be alarmed if during one of our services someone asks you to stand and tell us who you are. Our intent is not to embarrass you, but let you know how special you are, and how happy we will be to have you worshipping with us.

Where should I park?

Our church does have a small parking lot, but there are two spaces in the very front of the lot reserved just for visitors. However, upon many occasions, those spots are filled long before our noon service. If there is additional room in the parking lot, feel free to pull in. If not, please find parking on one of our adjacent streets (E. Raymond Avenue, or Dewitt Avenue). All we ask is that you do not park in the driveways of our neighbors as we are located in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

How should I come dressed?

There is no dress code or set style here at Emmanuel Temple. You will notice that some women will be in dresses and skirts, others in business attire, some in casual clothes. For the men you will notice that some will be in suits and ties, or jeans and a button down shirt. Whatever you feel comfortable in, that is what you are invited to wear. We only ask that you dress modestly, and try to refrain from wearing clothes which have offensive language or symbols, or are tight and figure revealing.

How long does the 12:00pm worship service last?

On a typical Saturday, services begin at Noon and end at 1:30 p.m. There are few exceptions where the service may run beyond 1:30 p.m., however service rarely ends after 1:45 p.m.

When do you celebrate Communion/The Lord's Supper?
Is anyone allowed to participate?

Typically in our church communion is the last Saturday of the quarter. We practice an open communion, where anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is invited to participate not only in the emblems, but also in the foot washing service as well.

How do I order copies of Sermon series, or individual sermon DVDs?

Our media department does sell DVD of the services which will include the items of special music and the message for the service. They can be ordered by clicking this link here which will direct you to our media department and their on-line order form.
